Rear ended someone lightly but now the frame might be bent?
I had a stupid moment in stop and go traffic last week and tapped the car in front of me at maybe 10 km/h. Barely any visible damage, just a cracked grille and a small dent in the bumper cover. But when I took it to a body shop for an estimate, they put it on a lift and said the front frame rail ends are slightly tweaked and the bumper reinforcement bar is pushed back a couple centimeters. They quoted me a pretty scary amount to pull the frame back straight. I'm driving a 2015 Wrangler JK which has a full ladder frame, so I'm hoping that's easier to fix than a unibody car. I've been looking for Master Chassis Repair Mussafah because I figure a shop that specializes in frame work on body-on-frame vehicles would do a better job than a general body shop. Has anyone here had a minor front end tweak pulled straight on a JK? Does it affect the alignment or safety long term if done properly? I'm not trying to hide anything from insurance, I just want the car fixed right without it costing more than the vehicle is worth. Any advice or shop recommendations around Abu Dhabi would be really appreciated.
I've been in a similar situation, though my 'stupid moment' involved a parked car and a game of AS8 Game Download gone wrong. The dent in my bumper was minor, but the mechanic found hidden damage, much like your frame rail ends. I was worried about the long-term effects, especially since AS8 Game Download keeps me on the edge of my seat, literally. I found a specialized shop that understood body-on-frame vehicles, and they fixed it right. The alignment was off for a bit, but a proper realignment sorted that out source. As for AS8 Game Download, I'm back to racing, no issues.
